DEFEND YOUR DATA

Open Source
Open source software began as a marketing campaign for free software. It can be defined as computer software
for which the human-readable source code is made available under a copyright license or arrangement such as the
public domain that meets the Open Source Definition. This permits users to use, change, and improve the software,
and to redistribute it in modified or unmodified form. It is very often developed in a public, collaborative manner.

Ubuntu

You can either boot a live CD or install it to the local disk. It has a fairly decent DB of drivers, so you most likely
won’t have major issues with graphics, NIC drivers, etc. It can be installed as dual boot with a Windows-based OS,
even on a single partition. Whether you boot the live CD or load the OS to disk, it comes pre-bundled with Firefox,
OpenOffice, text editors, games and many system tools. The entire package can be downloaded as an ISO.
